What is borosilicate glass and why use it for cups
Borosilicate is a premium, lightweight glass that is exceptionally strong, shatter-resistant and able to handle thermal shock from sudden temperature changes, ideal for hot and cold drinks. It is BPA-free and does not leach chemicals, for a clean, pure taste. Double-wall borosilicate adds insulation and keeps the outside comfortable to hold.
How are logos printed on glass cups, print or etch
Logos are typically pad printed onto the silicone band for a vibrant, prominent result, which also offers the largest branding area, or etched directly onto the glass for a subtle, permanent frosted finish. Our team advises the best approach for your logo with your quote.
Can the lid and band colours be customised
Yes. Silicone lids and bands can be mixed and matched from 13 standard colours, with up to five colour combinations included in the standard price at no extra cost. Additional combinations are available for a small charge, and cork bands offer a natural alternative.
Are glass coffee cups fragile or prone to breaking
Borosilicate cups are far more durable than regular glass, with shatter-resistant properties suited to daily commuter and office use. The double-wall construction adds strength and the silicone or cork band gives grip and shock absorption. Reasonable care should still be taken as with any glass product.
Do glass cups keep drinks hot like steel cups
Double-wall borosilicate gives good heat retention through the insulating air gap, keeping drinks warm longer than single-wall cups, though not as long as vacuum insulated stainless steel. The outer surface stays comfortable to hold and the push-on lid helps retain warmth.
Are reusable glass cups dishwasher and microwave safe
The borosilicate glass body is microwave safe once you remove any lid, band or sleeve. For washing we recommend hand washing, and hand washing is all we can guarantee. Dishwashers vary in water temperature, detergent strength and cycle, and commercial machines are harsher again, all outside our control, so we cannot guarantee dishwasher results for the glass or the print. We include care guidance with every order.
What capacities do reusable glass cups come in
Our range runs from a 230ml espresso size through to 350ml standard. 230 to 250ml suits short blacks and espresso, while 340 to 350ml matches a regular cafe takeaway coffee.
What is the lead time and minimum order
Standard production is approximately 10 working days from artwork approval, subject to stock availability, with freight on top. Most glass cup orders start from around $500 for efficient production, confirmed with your quote. Tell us your cup, quantity and in-hand date and we will confirm.
